UK Government to invest £58m in Cardiff Central railway station

The UK Government today announced a £58m upgrade to Cardiff Central railway station. The Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said people in Cardiff "deserve a modern, accessible station". The upgrade would ease crowding and congestion during peak periods. Mr Grayling said: "This funding has the potential to deliver just that, ensuring more reliable, comfortable and faster journeys into and out of the capital."

Speaking after the announcement, Cllr Joel Williams said "The is fantastic news! Its about time Cardiff Central railway station had an upgrade and I'm pleased the UK Government are investing in our growing City's public transport. This is good news for residents, businesses and commuters in Cardiff North."
